Ulysses of Ithaca — The Holberg Acting Edition

UlyssesLOGOby Ludvig Holberg

Adapted and Translated by Jerry Argetsinger & Sven Rossel

(For production by Professional, Amateur and Educational theatre groups.)

Holberg gives Ulysses a witty, ironic servant named Kilian (a kind of a Sancho) who cuckolds Ulysses sixteen times. The protagonist is clearly a lap dog who is cleft in twain to satisfy the two possessive ladies who contest ownership.
