Newman (Perfect for Professional, College/University, Community, High School, Middle School, and other Youth Theatre Groups) The long-suffering wife of Sganarelle, a woodcutter and former doctor’s assistant, decides to avenge herself for her husband’s neglect and abuse. She convinces two servants who are seeking a physician that they must beat her brilliant but eccentric husband until he admits to being a doctor.  When confronted by the servants, Sganarelle repeatedly denies any knowledge of medicine, but when they beat him, he decides to go along with their presumption.
